Prayers are Answered and Miracles are Real

Matthew 11: 23-24

“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them!”

I just wanted to post this tremendous prayer warrior’s testimony via the Grace Prayer Community Ministry. We are inspired when others share their God ordained experiences with us, and acknowledge the intercessors who prayed. Many of us can relate to Sherri’s symptoms and even to her deliverance. Thank You Sherri!

Thank You, Lord, for answered prayers for Sherri. We give You all the praise and glory!!!! We pray with her in agreement for continued healing in her life in every area. We believe in Your Word and in Mark 11:22-24, that says to call out to our mountain (name it) to be thrown into the sea and to believe and not doubt and it will be done and that we have received it and it will be ours. We thank You God for Your Word we can believe by faith that it will be done no matter what we see, feel or hear in the natural, to keep claiming and believing even when fear from the enemy tries to discourage us, that speaking and hearing the Word of God will bring faith to believe and know You want us healed and by Your stripes we are healed and we will stand waiting for the complete manifestation that is happening to us. AMEN

-Char

Sherri: Thank you for your inspirational thoughts today. You are an inspiration to all that wonder if God really does heal. If he really does answer prayer. I agree with you and with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ that the completion of Gods works in your body are already so, but your body has simply not caught up to it in the natural. You are completely healed through his strips and his blood. In the mighty name of Jesus Amen.

-Geoffrey

Praise the Lord! Amen!

In a time when people doubt the effectiveness of prayer and the answers that GOD can provide, this is a wonderful testimony of His power to save and heal. I pray that Sherri will receive even more Blessings in the Name of Jesus and that there will soon be another praise report coming our way. Charlene

Pray for Ukraine Outreaches

Dear Charlene,

Last week, Ukraine, a nation in turmoil, burst into deadly violence. Over the past several days there has been a change in leadership, and no one knows what will happen. But what is known is that this situation is extremely volatile. Our LIFE Centers there have been providing a safe haven for children, and our missionaries report that they are safe for now.

But this struggle for freedom and economic independence from Russia could turn into civil war. Please pray for the safety of mission workers and children at the LIFE Center and for a long-term peaceful solution.

Missionary Jim McCann reports, “We can feel the strength and encouragement of prayers from our brothers and sisters in Christ. And we are filled with God’s perfect peace, which passes all understanding.” He adds, “The battle is not over yet. But when we pray with faith, the battle is definitely the Lord’s, who has promised to always lead us to victory in Christ Jesus.”

In Christ’s love & service,
Jim and Sandy McCann

December of 2012: Baby Jesus Stolen from Nativity Scene

By Kelly Schlicht, FOX 11 News

MENOMINEE, Mich. – Christians around the world are getting ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus. But, the baby Jesus from a Nativity scene in Menominee, Michigan is missing.

People in Menominee say a very important baby has been missing for a week, and no one knows who took him.

“How sad at this time of the year, eleven days from Christmas,” said Lisa Fernstrum of Menominee, as she ate lunch with her family at the Serving Spoon Café.

At the Nativity scene in Great Lakes Memorial Marina Park, the cattle are lowing.

But Mary and Joseph stare at a blank pile of hay, instead of baby Jesus in the manger.

“I am pleading with the public if they do have any information that will assist us in the recovery of baby Jesus, it would be greatly appreciated,” said Menominee Police Chief Brett Botbyl.

The police chief says a passerby reported the statue stolen last Saturday. The posters have gone up around town, but there are no leads yet.

“There was a vulgarity-laden ransom letter in the manger and I must say it’s quite disturbing to me what was said with respect to baby Jesus,” said Botbyl, who declined to show FOX 11 News the letter.

Police say this isn’t the first time the baby Jesus figurine has been taken from the Nativity scene. It was stolen a few years ago and then replaced. Police aren’t sure if it’s a prank or a religious demonstration.

“Regardless of your religious beliefs or affiliation, the Nativity scene means a lot to many members of our community,” said Botbyl.

Folks having lunch across the street from the Nativity scene say it feels empty without the Christ child.

“I think it’s special. I know the women’s club sponsors it locally there and it’s been a part of this community for years and years. It’s the centerpiece of our Christmas decorations,” said Fernstrum.

The women’s club member in charge of the Nativity told FOX 11 News over the phone Friday that a baby doll will take Jesus’ place in the meantime.

But she says they hope he’s returned to the manger, no questions asked, by Christmas.

If you have any information about the missing statue, you’re asked to call the Menominee Police Department. Or, return the figurine to its place.

NC Man Says He Tried To Save Kids Buried in Dirt

North Carolina Man Says He Tried To Save Kids Buried In Dirt

STANLEY, N.C. (AP) — For Jordan Arwood, the images return in waves. A wall of dirt collapsing and burying his 6-year-old daughter and her 7-year-old cousin in a pit he was working on. Rescue workers frantically pulling the children from thick red clay. Their lifeless bodies placed in the back of an ambulance.

“When she came out of the hole she was so cold,” Arwood, of Stanley, N.C., told The Associated Press in his first news media interview. “I just wanted for her to be warm. I just wanted to put my arms around her and tell her she would be safe….I promised her I’d keep her safe. I promised them I’d keep them safe and warm. I broke that promise.”

The 31-year-old Arwood was operating a backhoe Sunday night in the pit when the walls caved in on the children. The bodies of the two young cousins, Chloe Jade Arwood and James Levi Caldwell, were dug out Monday morning.

Arwood is the girl’s father. His parents, Nancy and Ken Caldwell, had adopted the boy, his twin sister Jazmin and 9-year-old brother Josiah. Arwood lives next to his parents and the pit was on his property.

Arwood told the AP he reached out to save the children but they were just outside his grasp. He said he dug faster and faster trying to rescue them until he couldn’t breathe.

“When the wall came down, I kept grabbing what was in front of me — grabbing enough dirt, grabbing boulders. … I wasn’t going to stop until I pulled them out. But I couldn’t save them,” he said, sobbing.

He paused for a moment.

“I wish it was me,’ he said.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Detective Lt. Tim Johnson said investigators were interviewing family members and neighbors about the case. When they finished, they planned to present their findings to the district attorney’s office.

Investigators described the pit as 20 feet by 20 feet, with a sloped entrance leading down to the 24-foot bottom. The children were at the bottom of the pit retrieving a child-sized pickaxe when the walls fell in on them. No permits had been issued for Arwood to dig on the site.

Johnson said investigators still don’t know why Arwood was digging the hole and that people have speculated that the pit was everything from a “doomsday bunker” to an underground structure for “illegal activity,” such as growing marijuana.

But Arwood said he was building a rammed earth home, an ancient building method where dirt is used to shape the foundation. Arwood said he had been digging for three months.

Sheriff’s deputies on Monday removed guns and a marijuana plant from Arwood’s mobile home. Arwood is a felon who is not allowed to have guns. He was convicted in 2003 for possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Dion Burleson, spokesman for the Denver Fire Department, which responded to collapse, said crews filled in the pit Monday.

Arwood said he didn’t expect the walls to collapse. And late Tuesday afternoon, Arwood walked to the site of the pit and pointed to the spot where his daughter and James had been buried under the dirt.

He reached down and sifted the dirt between the fingers of his right hand. Then he punched the soil in frustration.

As the walls fell in, he recalled, the children were running to get away. He was within inches of grabbing his daughter’s hand. But she disappeared under a surge of dirt. Now he’s haunted by the memories.

“I want to wake up. I just want to wake up,” he said.

Recalling the children, his eyes brighten. They were always running around together — the best of friends.

And his parents’ house was filled with laughter. He taught his daughter and James how to ride four-wheelers in the backyard.

Arwood was like a big brother to James.

“How many times did I have to tell him to brush his teeth? I’ll never be able to tell him again, ‘Go brush your teeth, brush your hair.’ That was the first thing he did in the morning,” he said.

On Tuesday, friends and family in this tight-knit rural community came by to offer their condolences. They brought food to the family.

Ken Caldwell sat on a couch, surrounded by photos of his grandchildren. Nearby was a white karate suit. James is going to be buried in it. He was just a few days shy of taking a test for his orange belt.

Caldwell, who worked 34 years in a steel fabrication plant, recalled reading Tom Swift books every night to James, a bright, energetic first-grader with a big smile.

He loved his grandmother, who would tuck him in every night. “After she tucked him in, he would stick out his leg out of the covers and say, “Grandma, my foot’s not covered.'”

Chloe was always running around the house and jumping in his lap.

“She’s so beautiful,” he said.

When he saw the children’s bodies in the ambulance, he said he placed his hands on them and asked God to “bring them back.”

While his prayers went unanswered, his faith is still strong — and he’s going to use it to carry him through the tough times.

“You have to trust the Lord,” he said. “I’m just grateful I had time to spend with my grandkids.”
